The Taboo Conference is an interdisciplinary conference series founded in 2012 by members of the University of Bologna's Department of Interpretation and Translation in order to provide a space for bringing together scholars of various aspects of taboo in a variety of academic fields. Previous editions were held in Forlì (2012), Durham, UK (2014), Barcelona (2016), and Bertinoro (2018). After having been postponed for two years, the conference's fifth edition will take place at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, on September 28-30, 2022 and will focus on taboo in the broad areas of language, culture and communication.
