About us

For over 30 years, we have been a reference point in language sciences and linguistic and intercultural mediation at both national and international levels.

Our department combines research of the highest standard with teaching in the fields of linguistic and intercultural mediation, translation and interpreting, building on the legacy of the former SITLeC Department and the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators.

In an increasingly interconnected world, where interlinguistic communication has undergone profound changes in both nature and role, we position ourselves as an open and dynamic academic community, recognised across Europe thanks in part to our membership of the most prestigious international networks in the sector.

Communication lies at the heart of every human, professional, diplomatic and personal relationship. For this reason, our aim is to cultivate communicative intelligence: a set of strategic competencies centred on intercultural sensitivity, mastery of digital technologies and methodological rigour, designed to connect languages, people and markets in a state of constant transformation.

In a landscape shaped by the evolution of interlinguistic services, we integrate the humanities with the most advanced technological tools — from Artificial Intelligence to multimedia localisation — promoting dialogue, inclusion and mutual understanding as fundamental values for social and economic well-being.
